Lord Of The Flies - William Golding

There were two boys that were on a plane with a whole corwd of children. Their plane crashed for an unknown reason and they are now on a deserted island with no one over the age of thirteen present. The island is full of fruit trees, and pigs. Piggy finds a conch which him and Ralph use to summon the rest of the survivors on the island. Ralph is soon made chief of everyone on the island. But things quickly go out of hand.

Lord of The Flies is an exiting and intriguing book to read. When you read that there are no adults on the island, you think the kids are in heaven right? Wrong. There inexperience and inpatience and inabilty to work together quickly leads to them struggling to stay united.

Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers. ~Charles W. Eliot

I selected this quote it is true no matter how you look at it. Whenever I want to learn something, I don't usually ask someone about it, I find a book or a webpage about what I want to read about. What a book contains reflects the opinions of the author of that time and that will never change. Which makes books truly the most accesible and wisest of counselors and the most paitient of teachers, because they never get bored and walk away, and they are always there to be picked up and read. And that is why I chose this quote.
